Spartan SnacksVolunteering We need parent help to keep Spartan Snacks running this year! The snacks are already laid out on a table. All you need to do is move the table (and extra snacks) from the band room office to the lobby and help us sell snacks as students leave for the day. Set up should happen at 2:20 and we are usually done selling by 2:40 - only a twenty-minute commitment. Please send me an email and see this document for the available dates if you are interested in giving us a hand - thank you! Musical Gift Guide As you begin your holiday shopping, consider giving your study a gift that will help their musical learning! This document has lots of suggestions for small and big purchases that would mean a lot to your young musician! CU Boulder Middle School Ensembles Program (FREE OPPORTUNITY) I want to provide information about a tremendous extra-curricular performance opportunity for your student musicians at no cost. The University of Colorado Boulder College of Music organizes its Middle School Ensembles program (MSE) each year. This program is open to all middle school band and orchestra students. The program is designed for students with at least one full year of prior formal instruction on their instruments, but students in their first year of instruction are also encouraged to participate. We are thrilled to offer free registration to all interested middle school students this year. MSE groups meet weekly throughout the spring on Wednesday nights from 6-8 pm at Platt Middle School in Boulder, beginning February 7, 2024. The MSE program accepts ALL interested students, so if your student is looking for an extra opportunity to perform, please check it out. It is an excellent chance for your student to perform with other musicians in the area and culminates with a concert where the students get to showcase all they've learned! We are especially excited to offer this program at no cost to students in 2024! Attached here are brochures in English and Spanish (combined in one PDF) for you to learn about this program, including dates and registration information For more information, go to this link: http://music.colorado.edu/mse On these websites, you will find information about dates, how to register, and much more. If you have any additional questions, contact the Program Coordinator at [email protected].

Spartan Snacks Thanks to our fundraising efforts through Spartan Snacks and our Chipotle Fundraiser, the Sunset Music Department has raised over $1,000 to help pay for field trip transportation! Please help us continue the momentum by either donating snacks to sell or volunteering just 20 minutes of your time on a Friday to help us sell snacks. Donations: Donations of individually packaged items for us to sell at Spartan Snacks would be greatly appreciated! Students love to buy candy, Takis, chips, and Gatorade. The next time you are at Sam’s Club or Costco, consider picking up something for us at Spartan Snacks! Volunteering: We need parent help to keep Spartan Snacks running this year!
